TESS CALLAHAN is the author of the novel APRIL & OLIVER published by Grand Central Publishing (USA), Random House (UK), and by publishers in Italy and The Netherlands. Her short work has appeared in AGNI (Pushcart Prize nomination), Narrative Magazine (Story of the Week), The New York Times Magazine, Powell’s Books Original Essay Series, National Public Radio’s “Three Books” series, the STYLUS ANTHOLOGY, New York Newsday, Boston College Magazine, BEST LITTLE BOOK CLUB IN TOWN and Women & Home South Africa Magazine. Tess has also written for the Best American Poetry blog, Project Eve,  Ms. Career Girl, Chicago Woman, and Swaay. She has work forthcoming in Writer’s Digest. She had a blast being interviewed for the Writer’s Bone podcast where she offered advice to fledgling writers. Tess is presently finishing a novel written in response to a dare she gave herself during her TEDx Talk, “The Love Affair Between Creativity and Constraint.” A creative writing teacher and editor, she curates the website, a toolbox for aspiring writers. She holds a BA in English from Boston College, a M.Ed from SUNY Buffalo and an MFA in Creative Writing from Bennington College. Most importantly, she owes her sanity to the eight paws in her life.
